What Forms Of Payment Do You Accept?

  • US bank check.  (There is a 7-10 day delay for a check to clear before shipping.)

Please note that we may require additional information for large dollar credit card purchases.  We reserve the right to decline purchases made via credit card if our credit card agency does not approve it.   In that event, bank wire will be the only option. 

      Can I Be Sure My Item Is Authentic?

      Buying from us guarantees the purchase of an authentic product. Every item found on our site or branded on a partner site as a Madison Avenue Couture product is guaranteed authentic.  We have established networks from which to access our product and usually know the original origin of purchase, which substantially reduces the risk of fraudulent merchandise.  Every item is inspected by our in-house team of experts for authenticity and condition.  In the rare instances that we wish to have a second opinion, we work with the industry's most trusted third party authenticators for every brand we carry.   And each item carries our money-back guarantee in the event that a purchased item is found not to be authentic.

      What Do Your Condition Codes Mean?  Why Are Most Of The Items Listed As Pristine And Never Carried?

      We primarily stock and source luxury handbags and accessories that have never been used, as if they came fresh from the boutique.  We also carry a small selection of gently used and vintage items.

      The condition of each item can be found on the item’s product page. Madison Avenue Couture classifies conditions as following:

      • Pristine, never carried: This item has never been carried and is in pristine condition as if just bought fresh from the store. This item is complete with all original accompaniments. 

      • Mint condition: This item is in near pristine condition. It has been worn no more than a few times but shows virtually no signs of wear on the leather or hardware. Mint items often come with all (or most) of the original accompaniments and to the untrained eye can often pass as never carried.

      • Excellent condition: This item has been used but is still in beautiful condition. There will be minor signs of wear to the leather and/or hardware but the wear does not distract from the overall look of the item. 

      • Vintage mint:This item is vintage but given its age is in impeccable condition. There may be minimal wear to the leather and/or hardware and slight signs of natural aging. Signs of natural aging can (but do not necessarily) include slight loss of structure and/or loss of puffiness to the quilting of the leather. 

      • Vintage excellent: This item is vintage and shows natural signs of aging. This item will also have some wear to the leather and/or hardware.

      Why Do You Have A "Final Sale" Policy For Most Items?

      Most of our items are in pristine, never carried condition similar to having purchased them direct from the boutique.  While in our possession, these items are carefully maintained in a temperature controlled environment and in their original boxes.  They are only taken out for inspection, photography and packing and protective gloves are worn at every step.

      Once an item is received by the recipient, we can no longer control the way the item is handled.  Even the slightest change in condition, like a smudge or the loss of plastic on the foot of an Hermes bag, substantially reduces the value of the item.  

      Our commitment to our customers is that they receive the item in the condition described.  Therefore, by imposing a "final sale" policy, we ensure that all our items remain in the pristine condition as described.

      We accept returns on items classified as mint or excellent condition. Items must be unused with security tags still attached. The item must be returns in the same condition as sold. Please email within 24 hours of receipt of delivery of the item that you wish to return it. We will issue you a return authorization. Tracking must be sent so we can monitor the delivery.

      In returning items, please ship back with all tags that were on the item when received. A return will be rejected if there is any indication that the tag has been tampered with.

      We reserve the right to reject a return if the item appears to have been used.  

      When Will My Item Ship?

      Madison Avenue Couture normally ships within 1-2 business days of receipt of payment. In the United States, shipping is via FedEx ground or express depending on the purchase price and the buyer's location. Shipping and insurance are complimentary in the United States.  We will use USPS if shipping to a PO Box.

      Do You Ship Worldwide?

      Madison Avenue Couture ships worldwide using FedEx international Priority and DHL. Items shipped are insured for the amount of the value declared on the customs forms. Clients are responsible for all customs charges.

      Will You Hand Carry Items?

      Madison Avenue Couture offers hand delivery services for an extra charge.  If you wish to have your item hand carried, please contact us. 

      Will I Be Charged Sales Tax Or Custom Duties?

      All orders being shipped to an address in New York State are subject to New York State sales tax and applicable local sales tax. Shipments outside of New York State are not subject to any sales tax. 

      Customs rules and regulations vary by country and buyers should be aware of the regulations specific to their country before purchasing an item. Clients are responsible for all customs charges. 

      Can My Purchase Be Financed Or Placed On Layaway? 

      Madison Avenue Couture has partnered with Affirm to offer financing for any purchase on our website.  Subject to Affirm's credit check, it offers financing of up to $17,500 of the purchase price of any item with an up to 12-month payout. Learn more about Affirm financing here.

      Does Madison Avenue Couture Buy Back Items?

      We invite our clients to sell back items they have purchased from us. Since we work in a fluid marketplace, we need to assess the condition of the item and determine the price based on condition and current market value.

      Do You Offer Personal Shopping Services? 

      We provide a personal shopping experience for all our clients. Clients and shoppers are welcome to call to ask questions about any of our products, to check on shipment status or to complete a purchase over the phone rather than online.

      Our experts also provide assistance in building a tailored luxury accessory collection. We believe every woman should have a base collection of luxury accessories and build from there. Just as every woman has her wardrobe staples, we help acquire a woman's luxury staples based on age, style, and location. Simply contact our personal shopping department to get started.

      You Do Not Have The Item I Am Looking For; Can You Find It?

      If you are in the market for a specific item, you can ask our concierge service to source it directly for you.  Alternatively, you can use our wish list form requesting that we contact you when a specific item arrives. Make certain that you include the name of the item, the color and any other details. We will notify you if and when the item arrives. 

      How Does Your Concierge Service Work? 

      We try to fulfill client requests through our own inventory or by sourcing our extensive network of other dealers.  If we are able to source an item, we require a 50% deposit. Once we receive and review the item, we will then require the remainder of payment prior to shipment.

      Whether you are searching for the perfect gift for a wife, girlfriend, mother, sister, or friend, our personal shoppers can help in the selection process.       We value our users privacy and all information is secure. All payment information is kept confidential. Credit card transactions are processed through secure servers and our payment processor does not give us access to credit card information. We do not keep credit card information.
