Hermes "Jeu des Omnibus et des Dames Blanches" silk twill scarf designed by Hugo Grygkar in a brown colorway.
This design first issued in 1937, is the first scarf Hermes has ever created. This particular scarf was re-released in 2007 for its 70th annniversary. The inspiration for it comes from a popular board game of that period from the personal antique collection of Émile-Maurice Hermès. Surrounding the central game motif are "omnibus" or horse-drawn bus carriages that became a central figure of Parisian transportation in the 1800s.
